Kulgam encounter:- Civilian Killed, soldier injured , search on

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR Srinagar AUG 05:- A civilian was killed while as a soldier was injured in an encounter in Redwani area of Kulgam on Friday.

An official said that a joint of team of Army, police and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants launched search operation in the area.

He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter.

He said that during exchange of fire one civilian was killed while as a soldier was injured, who has been shifted to hospital for treatment.

He said that civilian identified as Manzoor Ahmad Lone, a carpenter by profession received bullet injuries during cross fire and succumbed at hospital.
