Srinagar, July 12: Following the announcement of summer break in Kashmir colleges, the University of Kashmir (KU) has postponed all Undergraduate (UG) examinations for the 2nd and 4th semesters initially scheduled for July 15 and 16.
According to an order issued by the Assistant Controller of Examination at KU, the postponement is in response to the summer vacation declared for colleges in the Kashmir division. “It is notified for the information of all UG candidates of 2nd and 4th Semesters that their examinations scheduled to be held from 15-07-2024 and 16-07-2024 respectively have been postponed due to the summer break in the colleges,” the order stated.
The Assistant Controller further mentioned that revised date sheets will be issued separately.
This decision follows an earlier announcement by the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department, which declared a summer vacation for all Government Degree Colleges in the Kashmir division and the winter zone areas of the Jammu division from July 15 to July 24.
Principal Secretary Higher Education Department, Alok Kumar, in his order, specified that “All the Government Degree Colleges falling in the Kashmir division and Winter zone of Jammu division shall observe summer vacation with effect from July 15, 2024, to July 24, 2024.”
This move aims to provide students and faculty with a break during the peak summer season, ensuring a more comfortable environment for academic activities upon their return.
