“Kidnapped, Threatened with an Axe’- Another Minor Nomad Girl Raped in Kathua
Kathua June 20(PTK)A 13-year-old minor nomad girl has been raped in the upper area of Kathua district of Jammu Kashmir.
Official sources told PTK, a 50-year-old man kidnapped, threatened to kill the girl after placing an axe on her throat and later raped this 13-year-old minor while she was in the forest grazing animals on June 15 in Boda area of Kathua district.
The Jammu Kashmir Police have registered a case in this regard at a Local police station and arrested the accused and also demanded a medical report.
The family of the minor girl said that she had gone to the forest with the cattle when a 50-year-old man named Bapu grabbed her with an axe and raped her, after which the girl fainted.
Pertinently this is the second incident of its kind in Kathua district in which a minor girl belonging to a nomad class has been raped.
In 2018, there was an incident of rape and murder of a minor girl in a village called Rasana and the court indicted seven criminals named Sanji Ram, Anand Dutta, Parvez Kumar, Deepak Khajuria, Surinder Verma, Tilak while Vishal, one of the accused has been acquitted by the court.(PTK)
