Kanhaiya Kumar and Jignesh Mevani join hands of Congress

 

 

 

SRINAGAR, SEP 28 (PTK): Kanhaiya Kumar, former president of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Students’ Union and leader of the Communist Party of India (CPI), formally joined the Congress party today.

 

Along with him, Gujarat’s Dalit and youth leader Jignesh Mevani also joined the Congress. Mevani is currently an independent MLA from Vadgam seat of Gujarat.

 

After joining the party, Kanhaiya Kumar said, “I am joining the Congress party because I feel that some people in this country are in power in this country, they are trying to spoil the future of this country. are.”

 

Kanhaiya Kumar and Jignesh Mevani joined the Congress in the presence of KC Venugopal and Randeep Singh Surjewala of Congress.

 

Recently Kanhaiya Kumar had met Rahul Gandhi, after which the speculation of his joining the party intensified.

 

Kanhaiya Kumar was a member of the National Executive of the Communist Party of India from Bihar.

 

Kanhaiya belongs to Begusarai of Bihar. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he also contested from Begusarai, but Giriraj Singh of BJP defeated him with a big margin.

 

During the Lok Sabha elections, Jignesh Mevani also campaigned in support of Kanhaiya Kumar in Bihar.

 

According to media reports, election strategist Prashant Kishor is trying to revamp the oldest party in this way before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. (PTK)
