SRINAGAR: Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary expressed deep concern over the soaring electricity tariffs, labeling them as a significant burden on the populace amidst the ongoing power crisis. Choudhary, during meetings with various delegations from different areas of Srinagar, criticized the substantial hike in power dues, asserting that it reflects a lack of empathy from the administration towards the plight of the common people.

“The sharp increase in power bills without considering the financial struggles of the citizens is distressing. It’s disheartening to witness individuals enduring such hardships,” remarked Kadfeen. He highlighted the challenges faced by Kashmiris, including unemployment and inflation, emphasizing the added strain of escalated electricity costs. “For someone earning a meager Rs 5000 monthly, managing a Rs 3000 power bill is unimaginable. How can they provide for their families or afford their children’s education?” questioned Choudhary.

Demanding an immediate rollback of the tariff hikes, Kadfeen urged the administration to refrain from exacerbating the burden on the common man. He called for measures to alleviate the financial strain on Kashmiri households, particularly during these challenging times.
