JKLF chief Yasin Malik detained in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, (PTK): Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik was detained from his home in Srinagar on Wednesday.

A JKLF spokesman said a police party arrived at the Maisuma residence of Malik and detained him.

“Malik sahib was later lodged at Kothibagh police station,” he said, adding that the JKLF chief was detained to prevent him from leading protests against the August 15 celebrations in the Valley.

Joint  Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik have called for a shutdown today.
