JKEDI organizes Startup Idea Challenge Boot Camps at JU Bhaderwah Campus and ITI Kishtwar
JAMMU OCTOBER 31(PTK): The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) continued its mission of fostering innovation and empowering youth through entrepreneurship by organizing Boot Camps under J&K Startup Idea Challenge at Bhaderwah Campus of University of Jammu and Government Industrial Training Institute, Kishtwar. The events, held under the J&K Startup Policy 2024–2027, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, aspiring entrepreneurs and faculty members.
At Bhaderwah Campus of Jammu University, the boot camp was graced by Rector, Professor Rahul Gupta, University of Jammu, Dr.Umesh Choudhary, Head, School of Business Department, Bhaderwah Campus, Jammu University, Vivek, Superintendent, ITI, Bhaderwah, Vishal Sharma, Branch Head, J&K Bank, Faculty of the Bhaderwah Campus, Officials from Employment Department, District Industries Centre and JKEDI, Doda.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr.Umesh Choudhary, Head, School of Business Department, Bhaderwah Campus, Jammu University, underscored the need of organizing such initiatives more frequently to build and nurture a vibrant startup ecosystem in the U.T of Jammu and Kashmir. Sixteen participants presented their ideas before the jury members.
The ideas were evaluated based on innovation, feasibility and market potential. Shabir Majeed, District Nodal Officer(DNO), JKEDI Doda deliberated on the details of the J&K Startup Policy 2024–27 while describing the Startups as drivers of innovation and economic growth.
At Kishtwar, the bootcamp, under the J&K Startup Idea Challenge, was held at Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI). The event was aimed to boost the startup ecosystem of the Union Territory in line with the J&K Startup Policy 2024–27. Er. Anoop Sharma, Principal, ITI Kishtwar inaugurated the event.
In his address, the Principle highlighted the importance of building a robust entrepreneurial culture in Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr. Majid Manzoor Khan, Associate Senior Faculty, JKEDI highlighted various interventions and programmes being implemented by JKEDI under the J&K Startup Policy 2024-27 and urged students to think innovatively and work towards building sustainable entrepreneurial ventures.
Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, District Nodal Officer (DNO), JKEDI Kishtwar, delivered the keynote address, outlining the agenda of the session and setting the tone for discussions on innovation, entrepreneurship and opportunities available under the J&K Startup Policy 2024-27.The
