J&K braces for wet spell Snowfall/rain likely from today evening

Srinagar January, 7 (PTK) The minimum temperature recorded a considerable increase on Saturday as Jammu and Kashmir braces for nearly weeklong cloudy and wet weather in wake of two back-to-back western disturbances.

A meteorological department official told that Srinagar recorded a low of minus 1.4°C against last night’s minus 5.5°C that was coldest for the season so far. Today’s minimum temperature was 0.5°C above normal, he said.

He said that current weather is cloudy and there is possibility of snowfall over higher reaches from today evening.
From 8-9𝙩𝙝, January there is possibility of light to moderate Snowfall/(rain in plains of Jmu) at many places of J&K(>75% chance).

The weather from 10-11𝙩𝙝 the weather is likely to remain generally Cloudy while from 12-13𝙩𝙝, there is possibility of widespread moderate Snowfall/(rain in plains of Jmu) with Heavy Snowfall over higher reaches(>75% chance)*

Weather wet is likely to affect surface transportation during 8-9th(70% chance) & Air transportation during 12-13th(60-70% chance), he said.
