J&K Administration Extends Compensation and Jobs to Families of 3 Civilians Tragically Lost in Poonch Incident

JAMMU, Dec 23: In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir administration unveiled a comprehensive initiative on Saturday, offering compensation and employment opportunities to the families of three civilians discovered deceased near the site of an anti-terrorist operation in the Poonch district.

Political parties in Jammu and Kashmir have raised concerns, asserting that the three individuals found dead under mysterious circumstances on Friday were purportedly taken into custody by the Army for questioning. This questioning is believed to be linked to the killing of five soldiers in a terrorist ambush within the district on Thursday.

In an official communication posted on X, the Information and PR department of the Union Territory addressed the situation, stating, “The tragic demise of three civilians was reported yesterday in Baffliaz of Poonch District. Medico-legal formalities have been completed, and legal proceedings have been initiated by the appropriate authority.”

The statement further conveyed, “The Government has not only announced compensation for each deceased individual but has also extended compassionate appointments to the next of kin of each deceased.”

Terrorist Ambush and Security Response

The unfortunate incident unfolded when heavily armed terrorists ambushed two Army vehicles at a blind curve at Dhatyar Morh between Dhera Ki Gali and Bufliaz on Thursday, resulting in the martyrdom of five soldiers and injuries to two others.

In response, security forces swiftly launched a substantial cordon-and-search operation in the area, aiming to address the situation and ensure the safety of the region. The government’s announcement reflects a commitment to support the affected families during this challenging time.
