JDU Party President G.M. Shaheen Addresses Press Conference in Srinagar

  • Srinagar, April 14 (PTK) – In a significant development for Jammu and Kashmir politics, Janata Dal United (JDU) Party President G.M. Shaheen today addressed a press conference, welcoming several prominent political workers into the party fold. Among those who joined JDU were key figures from the National Conference and District Development Council (DDC) Harwan, including Mr. Ali Mohammad.

Welcoming the new members, Shaheen emphasized that the growing support for JDU reflects the people’s deep disillusionment with the National Conference (NC). He stated that the NC has “failed in every respect,” and citizens have “lost all hope” in their ability to provide a credible and people-centric government.

Shaheen strongly criticized the NC leadership for ignoring their pre-election promises. “They only remember their manifesto till elections. Once in power, they never speak of it again,” he remarked. Highlighting public grievances, Shaheen accused the current administration of prioritizing luxury over public welfare. “They are more focused on purchasing expensive vehicles than addressing issues like rising electricity tariffs, which are severely impacting the general public,” he said.

Reaffirming JDU’s commitment to accountability and grassroots empowerment, Shaheen called for a new political vision that puts the people of Jammu and Kashmir first. He concluded by urging citizens to support a forward-thinking leadership that works not just for electoral gains, but for sustainable development and justice. (PTK)
