Introduction of e-Office in government departments across UT commendable step: President JKECC Shah Fayaz.
Requests the UT administration for time-bound implementation of the project across all the government departments.
Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar: In a statement issued to media, President Jammu and Kashmir Employees Coordination Committee Mr. Shah Fayaz lauded the UT Government for it’s decision to introduce e-Office mechanism to carry out day to day work in government departments. Quoting a media report, Mr. Shah said, “as many as 200 move and non-move government offices have been linked to e-Office till date, adopting a technology to make working smooth and faster. Initially, the Civil Secretariats in Jammu and Srinagar switched over to e-Office as majority of the files and records were digitized which prevented the physical transportation of files and records during the old age Darbar Move practice”. Hopefully, project will soon be implemented by the UT administration in remaining government offices, said Fayaz.
While highlighting the advantages of e-Office, Shah Fayaz said, the introduction of e-Office will provide the necessary support in governance by ushering in more effective and transparent inter and intra-government processes. The vision of e-Office is to achieve a simplified, responsive, effective and transparent working of all government offices. It will surely help in keeping a check on corruption, malpractices and also help in eradicating procedural delay. The Open Architecture on which e-Office has been built, makes it a reusable framework and a standard reusable product amenable to replication across the governments, at the central, state and district levels helping in bringing together the independent functions and systems under a single framework, said Fayaz.
Mr. Fayaz further said, that the introduction of e-office will not only help in speedy disposal of work but will also help in the eradication of mental and physical agony that emplooyees and common people had to go through to check the progress of their cases as they’ll now be able enquire about the same right from their home instead of going for a physical check which costed them time as well as money.
At last, Mr. Shah Fayaz requested for speedy implementation of the project in all government departments so that emplooyees , common man may be able to reap the benefits of initiative.(PTK).
