Inter Block Chess & Carom Tournament held in Ganderbal

Ganderbal 21 FEB(PTK)The Department of Youth Services & Sports, District Ganderbal in collaboration with District Administration Ganderbal hosted the inter block Tournament in chess and carom today at indoor sports complex Sehpora Ganderbal in which hundreds of boys and girls took part.

Earlier this month the first leg of the tournament was held in which 216 panchayats of the district comprising around 5000 students and non students participated.

It was followed by inter Panchayat competitions in which around 1500 participants took part.

The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal, Joint director planning Ganderbal, District Youth Services & Sports Officer Ganderbal, Panchayat and block representatives/ officers and various officers and officials of this department were present in the concluding function.

The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal distributed the prizes and impressed upon meritorious participants to work hard and bring laurels to the district during forth coming state level competitions.(ptk)
