In white t-shirt, Omar Abdullah joins Bharat Jodo Yatra in Banihal

Srinagar January, 27 (PTK) Former chief minister and National Conference vice president, Omar Abdullah Friday joined Rahul Gandhi led Bharat Jodo Yatra in Banihal area of Ramban district.

Omar Abdullah joined the Yatra at Banihal while several J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) leaders are presently waiting in Qazigund to join the Yatra.

The yatra would enter Kashmir today after it resumed from Banihal this morning and would end at Khanbal today.

Hundreds of people are waiting at Qazigund to attend the Yatra.

It’s been 8 yrs since there have been polls in J&K, said Omar Abdullah while joining the Yatra.

The last Assembly polls were in 2014. This is the first time that there has been such a long gap between polls here, he said.

It wasn’t such a situation even during the worst days of militancy in J&K, he added.
