Hoteliers Club seeks 1-hour morning relaxation in Ramadan Urges Administration to ferry Kashmiris stranded outside in lockdown

Srinagar, April 20:(PTK)J&K Hoteliers Club has sought one hour morning relaxation in lockdown during the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement, J&K Hoteliers Club said its delegation led by Secretary General Tariq Rashid Ghani met Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Development Commissioner, Assistant Development Commissioner and appreciated the efforts of the administration in containing the spread of the Coronavirus in J&K.

It said, Hoteliers Club urged the administration to extend the lockdown till the virus is eliminated from the J&K.

“However, we requested the administration to allow one hour relaxation early in the morning for the purchase of essential food items. We also suggested that mutton, chicken and milk retailers, vegetable and fruit vendors should be allowed to open shops during this one hour relaxation so that people can make quick purchases and lockdown should be continued during the day time till the virus disappears,” it said.

Hoteliers Club said lockdown is the best solution to this pandemic as JK is not as well equipped as other parts of the country.

It said the delegation assured the officers that they would fully cooperate with the administration in making the lockdown success.

The delegation also urged the administration that cleanliness should also be made top priority.

J&K Hoteliers Club further requested the administration that special arrangements should be made to ferry the Kashmiris stranded outside J&K in the lockdown.

“Kashmiris prefer to be with their family members during the holy month of Ramadan and as they have to make arrangements for the Sahur and Iftar which is very difficult especially for students stuck outside. They should be brought back immediately,” the delegation urged the administration.

Hoteliers Club also advised locals to stay home and also pray at home only during the holy month so that the population is saved from the coronavirus.(ptk)
