HCC workers protest in Bandipora, demand release of pending salaries

Bandipora, Feb 20:(PTK) Scores of Contractors, workers and labourers working in Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) on Thursday held a protest demonstration against the company, demanding release of pending salaries of 09 months.

The protesting workers, Contractors and labourers said that their salary has not been released from past nine months.

“The company has withheld our salaries for reasons best known to them. Our families are starving as we dont have any other means to fulfill even our basic needs and run daily home affairs,” the protesting employees said.

They said that the company is forcing them to come out on roads to press for their demands.

Meanwhile, an official of HCC said that they are in the process of releasing the pending salaries of these protesting employees and they takeup the matter with NHPC and it will take some time.
