Gunfight breaks out in Sopore, three militants including a commander killed

Press Trust Of Kashmir | Baramulla : A nocturnal gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Brath village of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

An official said that a joint team of Police, 22 Army and 177, 179 and 92 BN of CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Brath village Tantray Mohalla.

He said that the hiding militants, fired upon forces which was retaliated, thus leading to a gunfight.

During exchange of fire, three militants including a top Commander were killed, he added.

He added that killing of Commander Mudasir Ahmad is big success to forces as he was involved in killing of several civilians, councillors and policemen.

He was also involved in recent killing of two policemen and two civilians, he said.(PTK)
