Govt puts Air Force, Army on high alert in Kashmir, Omar Abdullah sounds alarm

SRINAGAR, (PTK): With another batch of 28,000 troops being deployed in Kashmir valley, the central government has put the Army and Air Force on high alert in Jammu and Kashmir.

Rashtriya Rifles and other regular units deployed on the LoC have been asked to be prepared for any attempts by Pakistan to push militants into the Kashmir valley.

Indian Air Force fighter aircrafts have been patrolling over Jammu and Kashmir since Thursday evening as part of the operational alert. The steps have been taken in view of the increased troop induction.

Over 280 companies of security forces, which are 28,000 troops, are in the process of being deployed in the Kashmir valley, official sources said on Thursday.
