Press Trust of Kashmir | Bandipora : Opening ceremony of Spirit of Freedom; Bandipora Girls Sports Festival that is being conducted by Bandipora 14RR under the aegis of Manasbal Sector was held at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium today evening. Hundreds of participants attended the same wherein the Victory Flame was lit to signify a new era of Women Empowerment in Bandipora District. The entire stadium resounded with the slogans of “Girls are Great; Women are Wonderful” as the participants cheered in joy on the opportunities that lay in front of them.

The ceremony was followed by practice heats of various athletics events as part of Bandipora District Girls Athletics Competition and league matches of North Kashmir Volleyball Premier League for Women. In addition to this, final registration for Tug of War competition which is being conducted as part of Village Games for Girls was also organised.

This festival will be conducted over a period of five days with finals scheduled on 22nd September 2021. Teams from entire North Kashmir representing various schools and sports clubs will battle against each other for the coveted title of Champion. It will see women rising to the occasion and excelling in their fields of choice.(PTK)
