GCW Udhampur hosts online T-Shirt Painting competition

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR UDHAMPUR, AUGUST-15: NCC Cadets of Government College for Women Udhampur today organised an online T-shirt Painting Competition on the theme ‘Har Ghar Jhanda.’

The event was organized by the 1st J&K Girls Battalion NCC Srinagar, GCW Udhampur under Har Ghar Tiranga programme and to mark celebration of Independence week under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The competition was organized under the guidance of Principal of the college Dr. Monika Sharma under the week long series of programmes starting from August 11.

On the fourth day of the Independence week, NCC cadets painted their T-shirts in the colour of the tricolour. In all, 9 cadets participated and expressed their feelings of patriotism towards the nation through their paintings. The cadets were adjudged by Prof. Jugal Kishore from the department of mathematics, Prof. Roopa from the department of Education and Dr. Usha Sharma HOD Sociology.

Cadet Rubeena Begum, Cadet Kiran Bhatyal and Cadet Mancy Mehra got first, second and third positions, respectively. Cadet Sandhya Sharma and Cadet Mansi Verma bagged Consolation prizes.

The Judges appreciated all the cadets for their creative expressions. The event was coordinated by ANO Prof Shallu Jasrotia.   The main aim of this competition was to encourage the creativity of the cadets and invoke the sense of patriotism and pride of the nation to mark the 75th Independence Day.
