SRINAGAR, (PTK): Clashes erupted between youth and government forces in Daharmuna area of Suibugh in central Kashmir’s Budgam district last night after forces tried to detain some local youth involved in stone pelting.
As per locals, forces tried to detain some local youth at around 1:30 am after which people came out of homes and pelted stones on government forces which lead to clashes in the area. The locals further alleged government forces unleashed a reign of terror during the night and damaged property worth thousands.
The local said that the security forces not only vandalized their houses but also damaged some parked vehicles. “Whenever there is any stone pelting incident in day hours, forces attack us during night. It seems they get pleasure by it.” said a local who wished not to get name.
However, police refuted the allegations of locals and said that forces personnel had gone to the village to make arrest of the miscreants who were involved in stone pelting incident that took place in the village during the day. “The miscreants attacked forces that lead to clashes in area and there was nothing like vandalism.” he added.
