For marking online attendance from home, Principal GDC Qazigund suspended

Srinagar February, 2 (PTK) Principal GDC Kulgam gets additional charge 

Government of J&K has suspended Principal GDC Qazigund for marking online attendance from home while Principal GDC Kulgam has been given additional charge of Principal GDC Qazigund.

“Whereas; Higher Education Department vide communication dated 11-11-2022, a show cause notice was served to Mr. Mujahid Ahmad, I/cPrincipal, GDC Qazigund regarding unauthorized use of bio-metric device and directed to explain his position as to why action be not initiated for installation of BAS device on personal device and marking attendance at location other than office within a week’s time under J&K Govt. Employees (conduct) Rules 1971 and J&K Civil Services (Classification, control and Appeal) rules 1956, Mr. Mujahid Ahmad, I/c Principal, GDC Qazigund failed submit the reply to the Administrative Department within stipulated time till date.” Reads an order issued by Principal Secretary to the Government, Higher Education Department.

“The General Administration Department has issued instructions vide Government Order No. 650-JK(GAD) of 2022 dated 02-06- 2022, G.O.No. 651-JK(GAD) of 2022 dated 02-06-2022 and Higher Education Department has also issued Circular instructions dated 15-07- 2022, wherein all the officer/ officials of department are directed to mark their bio-metric attendance, at the time of arrival and departure. Whereas; the department has received a complaint that Principal, GDC Qazigund marking online attendance from home and not being physically present in the college, after perusal of bio-metric attendance on AEBAS for the month of October, November, December 2022 & January-2023, Mr. Mujahid Ahmad, I/c Principal, GDC Qazigund is again violating the instruction of the Government and marking biometric attendance from different locations other than GDC, Qazigund.” It reads further.

“Therefore, in view of above facts and grounds, Mr. Mujahid Ahmad, I/c Principal, GDC Qazigund is hereby attached in the Office of Director Colleges, J&K Jammu for violation of section 3(1) of J&K Employees Conduct Rules, 1971 till further order.” It adds.

“The Principal, GDC Kulgam shall hold the additional charge of Principal GDC, Qazigund.” It adds further. (PTK)
