Food Safety teams lift 21 samples of edible oils in Jammu division

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR JAMMU, AUGUST 02: In continuation of the drive on surveillance sampling of the brands of edible oils, the Food Safety Jammu Division  Wing of Food and Drug Administration, UT of J&K today lifted 21 surveillance samples of different brands of edible oils including vegetable oils, multisource oils and vanaspati etc.

The drive has been undertaken on the directions of Commissioner, Food & Drug Administration J&K, Shakeel-UL-Rehman Rather and will continue till August 14, 2022.

The surveillance drive is being undertaken to collate the data for noncompliance on the part of manufacturers & to curb the menace of adulteration in edible oils. It is further conveyed that such commodity specific drives shall continue in future to expose hot spots of food adulteration and ensure safe as well as wholesome food to the general public.
