Five militants, three soliders killed in Keran Gunfight

SRINAGAR:-(PTK)Army on Sunday claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid along the line of control in Keran Sector in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district by killing  five militants. Three army soliders were also killed in the encounter.

Defense spokesperson in Srinagar Colonel Rajesh Kalia said five militants were killed taking the toll of total militants killed in kashmir division to nine in 24 hours.

He added that a group of militants made an infiltration attempt in Keran sector, alert troops braving the inclement weather and hostile terrain managed to kill 05 militants however three soliders also lost their lives.

He furthermore said that the operation in Keran sector in underway and can take time as the area is having heavy snow besides hostile terrains.

Pertinently forces in last 24 hours have killed nine militants, including the four killed in Batpura area of south Kashmir on Saturday and five at ongoing operation at Keran sector.(PTK)
