According to PTK, Heavy breaches are eroding our fertile land:- Farmers

SRINAGAR  JUNE(PTK) Locals from Hayan-Najwan area of Ganderbal District have appealed government authorities to repair the embankments of the Hayan Canal locally known as Gami Koul as canal have developed breaches at many places.

The leakage through breaches is eroding our fertile land and is posing more threat to our paddy land, locals said.

They said that canal has been occupied at many places and now from many feets of width, it is of now in inches and water level goes up day by day.

Department of irrigation and flood control are watching all this as mute spectators and have done nothing to demolish the structures constructed on irrigation land besides checking large breaches.

Locals demand irrigation and flood control department to look into the matter at an earliest and save our land from eroding(PTK)
