Employees Association demandsMGNREGA ‘job policy’

Srinagar August 13(PTK)All J&K MG-NREGA Employees Association has demanded a permanent job policy for the contractual employees.
Adressing a press conference at Press Club Srinagar they said that they have been working for last 15 years in the department and the government is yet to come up with any job policy for them.
Chairman All J&K MGNREGA employees Association Mir Syed said that despite repeated directions from higher ups to form a Job policy for them so far, nothing has happened on. ground
He said even after going for strike twice, the government did not pay any heed to our demands.
He said that we have Chief secretary, division commissioner and other higher ups so many times where they assured that your all demands shall be fulfilled.
We want the government to take a concrete decision at an earliest regarding our job policy else we will go for an indefinite strike, Jaffer said.
He said the government formed an official committee to resolve the issue within two months but it has been years since and still nothing has come out.
By abolishg schemes like Self help groups government is making more and more people unemployed here but government should reconsider the decision and shouldn’t issue any order for us, he said.
They should pay heed to our demands on humanitarian ground as we have seen tough times in the last decade or so,” he added(PTK)
