EJAC holds protest in Srinagar, demands issues of daily wagers must be solved at an earliest

Srinagar July 14(PTK)EJAC on Tuesday staged protest at outside civil Secretariat Srinagar while demanding that all issues of daily wagers must be solved at an earliest.

Dozens of daily wagers on Tuesday appeared near Jahangir chowk and were demanding they must be regularized.

The protest was lead by EJAC President Shabnam fayaz along with other leaders of the committee.

Shabnam while talking to PTK, said that due to unknown reasons, issues haven’t been solved since last 3 decades.

He said that an agency wants that issue of daily wagers should be kept withheld so that they can run their business on this issue.

He said that before starting any new recruitment, daily wagers must be regularized.

Daily wagers are working same as regularized employees are working but there is injustice with daily wagers, he said, adding that all pending wages should be released at an earliest besides that regularisation order must be issued in their favour.

He reiterated that EJAC stands with daily wagers and temporary workers who have been working tirelessly in various departments for more than 25 years on a meagre salary.(PTK)
