ED Conducts Raids Across Punjab in Connection to Guava Orchard Compensation Scam

The Enforcement Directorate (ED), Jalandhar, conducted extensive search operations on the 27th of March, 2024, targeting 26 residential and business premises associated with Bhupinder Singh and several other private individuals. This operation, undertaken alongside two Senior IAS officers and officials from revenue and horticulture departments, spanned various districts across the state of Punjab, including Ferozepur, Mohali (SAS Nagar), Bathinda, Barnala, Patiala, and Chandigarh.
The raids were carried out under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, in connection to the Guava Orchard Compensation scam. During the meticulously conducted search operations, the ED unearthed a plethora of incriminating evidence, property documents, mobile phones, and a substantial amount of cash totaling approximately Rs. 3.89 Crore.
The coordinated efforts of the ED, alongside other government agencies, signify a resolute commitment to combating financial malpractice and corruption. These operations aim to uphold the integrity of the financial system and ensure justice for victims of fraudulent schemes.
