ECI approached through urgent Email to keep counting of 3 seats of Kashmir on hold till 97% voting is ensured: Renzushah
Srinagar 20th May (PTK): “With three days left to counting of votes throughout country where above 50 to 80% voting enriched garden of democracy, it is insult to basic fundamentals of such sacred institution that in Kashmir only 0 to 3% voting was allowed to make mockery of all democratic values in the valley ” Said Khawaja Farooq Renzushah chairman Kashmir society international in his direct email to ECI (Reference No. KSI-2781-19-345 Date: 20-05-2019) with copy to Governor J&K State.
He intimated to highest echelons of democracy in country that 97% of vote franchise is being engineered to be kept out mostly by regional main stream leaders in nexus with forces of separatism for perpetuating their rule by behaving as Dacoits of democracy .He said these horse traders (Galwans in local linguistic meaning) who keep 97% deprived of availing their votes should not be projected as Massehas of human rights but butchers of Magna carta source of democracy.
He intimated that very less efforts have been taken to ensure participation of 97% voters to participate in voting in Kashmir since 1947 as a result of which the law making system in Kashmir has never remained in hands of true representatives of Kashmir. The passage of Alcohol bill is vivid example.
He intimated ECI that Democratic history of Kashmir is witness of the fact that even Prime Minister’s of Kashmir have been sworn to posts after 1947 without elections as well as rejecting papers of opponents by declaring them unopposed. Through personal Accord like Indra Sheikh accord PM chairs have been dismantled to shape them as CM chairs to squeez size of the personalities to sit on such chair that too without any Election in 1975 .Earlier deputy commissioners like Khaliq DCs have been created to make any Galwan (Horse trader) as J&K Assembly law maker to decide destiny of Kashmir.
He intimated that entire Kashmiried during 1987 fed up with dynastic coronations and fed up with dynastic internal wars for power between sons & son in laws constrained majority of people to rise up on democratic platforms to come out of paws of wild beasts who devoured democracy in Kashmir for their powers since 1947 but unfortunately Rajiv Gandhi directed Election machinery to plunder this democratic up rise by 97% in Kashmir ruthlessly by military supporting dynasties. The events of such cruel massacre of democracy in Kashmir is witness how brutally the winning candidates carrying pen & ink pots in their hands were dragged out from counting stations and put in jails to get them beaten along their polling agents by their defeated MLAs who were fraudulently declared winners. The situation under well crafted plan was created to snatch ink pots from hands of majority and push them to anti Indian platform by introducing Gun culture .
This was biggest tragedy when power brokers directly demolished institutions of Sufiyat and composite culture for which Kashmir was known throughout world and rendered it violent which is contrary to its basic values of Kashmir civilization. Kashmiri Pandit exodus & snatching of their properties to shift to purchased class of 3% political mafia were part of well drafted anti democratic plans. The ink pots of 97% majority were also snatched like houses of minorities to strengthen dynastic rule for ever by utilizing gun culture for the same.
Even services of persons like Kuka Parray and his associates were used to pave way for dynastic rules through process of fake democracy after engineering 3% voting and keeping 97% majority away from this sacred institution of democracy. The ugly chapter of democracy were scripted when persons with two to three hundred votes were made law makers by Mr. Jalil Khan the then Election commissioner J&K. This method of giving credence and acceptability to less percentage of votes has been completely misused.
Ex Home Minister’s of India were given ink pot of MUF to befool people as spokesmen of Gun culture in kashmir and win through minority votes of 3% distributed between two dynastic families. The most humiliating and Ugly consequence of such fake democratic drama in Kashmir is witness when one Kashmiri parliamentarian who had secured only one and half% votes brought down Jenab Atal Behari vajpayee Govt at centre having millions of votes behind him.
This brazen misuse of democracy rather converting democracy in to Autocracy and Dictatorship in Kashmir is very dangerous. The basic jurisprudence of democracy is majority to rule after casting their votes freely without any show of force but in Kashmir it is contrary where political class has purchased 3% of voters by employing them, or giving contracts to them and they are assigned with task to keep 97% voters away from polling booths.
It is not only Militancy which distances them from polling booths but huge security covers provided to political leaders in name of protecting Indian democracy is being used to keep 97% of voters away from voting rights.
The recent parliament election is vivid example how these political parties themselves engineer boycotts so that only they win even if it is zero% vote.
Renzushah requested ECI to avoid the cruel practice to giving credence to such methods of utilizing boycott of voting as tools for facilitating 3% political mafia to be declared as representatives of Kashmir. It is humble request that serious efforts should be taken to create foolproof circumstances to ensure participation of 97% of voters to vote.
It is wrong perception created by Regional main stream parties that these 97% majority Kashmiri are pro Pakistani and they can be controlled or killed only by these 3% political class while truth is vice versa which is evident from their statements and actions.
Renzushah appealed ECI that E -Voting should be introduced in Kashmir by making it compulsory to vote so that the voter through secured Adhaar card number can cast his vote without getting physically detected at polling stations. Once serious exercises are made to ensure how this system will work not only billions of funds spend on security will be saved but 97% of majority of Kashmir will be able to choose true representatives who will be able to work sincerely for restoration of permanent peace and true democracy in Kashmir. Only they can bring people out of present Disastrious situation.
The ECI has historical opportunity to introduce true democracy in Kashmir which is only solution to all complicated problems and issues. If ECI continues to encourage declaring 3% political mafia to win elections the future of democracy will become more dark with passing of days. It shall be real service of democracy if counting of all 3 parliament seats of Kashmir are withheld till entire majority of Kashmiries are allowed to vote freely.
It is also hoped that before conducting any other such vote exercise first all civil societies are involved directly and draft well planned road map to ensure how participation of 97% majority is ensured in democratic process without giving opportunity to regional main stream and separatists forces to join hands for direct and proxy rules in future.
