Drug De-Addiction Awareness Programme held in kangan organised by Medical Aid forum Kangan

Ganderbal,March,04 (PTK) A drug de-addiction awareness programme organised by the Medical Aid forum kangan was held at Rest House kangan under title of “Get RID of Drugs . The awareness programme was based on the theme ‘Socio-economic and legal implications of drug abuse’.

The Programme Was Attended By DC Ganderbal Shafqat iqbal, SDM kangan Hakeem Tanveer,Major Abhishek damovah of 24RR(Bahir),SHO Kangan Aftab Ahmad ,DDC Kangan Yasmeena adil, and senior citizens of the areas

DC Shafqat Iqbal spoke on the occasion and deliberated on the ill-effects of drug abuse and highlighted the need of taking preventive measures to eradicate the menace of drugs and other social evils in the district.

He also Thanked To Medical Aid forum kangan Especially Nazir Ahmad Magary who is a president of this Forum For Organizing Such Good Events In Rural Areas.

The organisers said the main aim of the programme was to spread awareness amongst the student community to take necessary steps for curbing the drug menace.

Firdous Dar president trader union kangan discussed its health aspects and added that if any person is in stressful conditions or facing drug abuse,Medical Aid forum kangan will lend him or her a helping hand by providing counseling .

Major Abhishek damovah stressed upon the social and economic aspect of the drug abuse.

Manzoor Ahmad lone vice-president deliberated upon the legal aspect by making the students aware about narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances act 1985 and the recent draft of drug policy in Jammu Kashmir.

SHO Aftab Ahmad presented vote of thanks. A similar drug de-addiction awareness programme aiming at spreading awareness about the ill-effects of drugs was organised by medical aid forum kangan. (PTK)
