Dr Jitendra visits proposed site for Arun Jaitley Memorial Sports Stadium Hiranagar, Directs authorities to speed up land acquisition
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR | KATHUA :- Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region and PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh today inspected proposed site for construction of Arun Jaitley Memorial Sports Complex at Hiranagar today.
Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Raghav Langer, District Development Council Chairperson, Kathua, Mahan Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Yadav, Secretary J&K Sports Council Nuzhat Gull besides elected local ULB and PRI representatives were also present.
While having first hand appraisal of status of the required land for the construction of Multiplex stadia, Dr Jitendra Singh was informed that due to the second wave of Corona virus the expected pace of work is not achieved resulting delay in taking up of land acquisition and related formalities.
Dr Jitendra Singh directed Secretary J&K Sports Council and DC Kathua to speed up the land related formalities and hand over it to the authorities at the earliest.

While giving detail of the prestigious project, Dr Singh said the Complex will be one of biggest sports stadium which will be a great addition into the sports landscape of not only Jammu and Kashmir but of the country. He said the sports complex will have International Cricket Stadium and allied sports facilities once completed will provide good exposure to sporting talent of entire Jammu and Kashmir who can nurture their skills in a stadium of international class.
Pertinently, the Union Ministry of Youth and Sports has approved the project with facilities like, Cricket stadium, Hockey turf, Athletics turf, Football Turf, Skating rink, Boxing ring, swimming pool etc.(PTK)

Press Trust Of Kashmir | Srinagar : Army on Thursday said that said they are ready for the Amaranth Yatra and has taken all necessary steps for it even as the decision to conduct the annual pilgrimage to the cave shrine lies with civil administration.
Addressing reporters here, Chief of Army Staff, General MM Naravane, a said that situation along LoC said that after a long time J&K is witnessing peace and tranquility which is must for the development of any area.

There have been hardly any cases of stone pelting, any cases or nil cases of IEDs in the recent past and all these are indicators of return of sense of normalcy,” he said.
People of J&K have also realized that nothing lies in violence and have started taking part in developmental activities now, he said adding that people in general, not only youth, should shun path of “violence” for better future.
We have reached a situation where peace and tranquility prevails after long time where people are able to perceive their dreams and aspirations.
My message to all, not only youth, would be that when there is peace and tranquility can there be development and when there is development, we will all prosper,” he said,

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR | KUPWARA: Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Imam Din today visited various Covid Vaccination Centres of block Trehgam and Kralpora to take stock of ongoing vaccination progress made in the areas.
During the visit, Deputy Commissioner inspected availability of facilities at Covid Vaccination centre in Primary Health Centre Trehgam and NTPHC Panzgam.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the Doctors and staff during which he took the appraisal of ongoing progress of the vaccination drive in their respective areas.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the concerned to ensure completion of the target for Covid vaccination within the stipulated time frame. He directed them to speed up the door to door vaccination drive for maximum coverage of the people so as to eradicate the pandemic completely from the district.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner appealed the people to come forward and vaccinate themselves at nearest Vaccination Centres to immunize themselves against the deadly Covid pandemic disease.(PTK)
