Srinagar, 14 July: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah on Thursday expressed profound grief over the demise of the revered mother of Ex MLA and JKNC District President Anantnag Altaf Ahmed Wani.

In their condolence message, the duo prayed for peace to the departed soul and much needed strength to bereaved family, particularly Altaf Ahmed Wani to bear the inconsolable loss with fortitude.

Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah visited Ashmuqam early morning and participated in Namaz e Janaza of the deceased. Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, MP Hasnain Masoodi, Senior Leader Nazir Ahmed Khan Gurezi, Advocate Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi, Showkat Ganaie and others participated in the Namaz-e-Janaza of the deceased.

Later party leaders visited the residence of Altaf Wani at Ashmuqam and offered condolences to the bereaved. Among those who visited Ashmuqam included Senior leader Sakina Itoo, Tanvir Sadiq, Dr Bashir Veeri, Ali Mohammad Dar, Imran Nabi Dar, Ahsan Pardesi, Salman Ali Sagar, Mudassar Shahmiri, Farooq Shah, Gh Mohiudin Mir, Sheikh Mohammad Rafi and others.

Meanwhile JKNC General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Senior leaders Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Muhammad Shafi Uri, Abdul Rahim Rather, Sharief Ud Din Shariq, Mubarak Gul, Mian Altaf Ahmed, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, Shameema Firdous, Pirzada Gh Ahmed Shah, Party MP Muhammad Akbar Lone, Zone President Javed Dar, Senior Vice President Kashmir Province Muhammad Syed Akhoon, District Presidents Peer Afaq Ahmed, Qaiser Jamshed Lone, GR Naaz, Dr Sajjad Shafi, Provincial Secretary Advocate Showkat Ahmed Mir, Social Media incharge Sarah Hayat Shah, Muhammad Khalil Bandh, Pir Muhammad Hussain, Aga Syed Mehmood, women’s wing Provincial President Er Sabiya Qadri, Shabir Ahmed Kullay have also expressed sympathies and condolences with Altaf Ahmed Wani on his bereavement. The functionaries prayed for eternal repose to the departed in the highest echelons of the Jannat.

Takes up issues concerning youth, students

Srinagar, 14 June: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Thursday stated that only youth have the inseparable  prowess  and burgeoning energy to turn over a new leaf of development and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.

This was said by party leaders Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, and MP Anantnag Hasnain Masoodi while addressing a team of Jammu and Kashmir Students Union (Jammu) here at the party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar.

The visiting team was headed by Harsh Vardhan. Among others Sajid Malik, Jehangir Mughal, Arun Singh, Tariq Muhammad, Masarat Malik, Shah Jehan Malik, Mozin, Ayaz Malik and Masood Ahmed were also part of the visiting team.

The visiting team called on the party leaders and appraised them about the wide ranging issues confronted by the student community across Jammu division. They also intimidated the party leaders about the team’s underway activities in Jammu, Pir Panjal and Chenab regions. The interaction of the visiting student leaders with the parent wing leaders was also marked by threadbare discussion on organisational issues and future course of action with regards the evolving situation in the region.

Extolling the visiting team members on their role in raising issues of public importance, the leaders said that the party’s student wing has a greater need to develop a clear understanding  about the party’s policies, priorities and perspective at multiple fronts in wake of the big challenges that have surfaced post 2019 measures.
The youth associated with the party has to work on mass fronts now and reach to greater audiences, particularly educated youth through various social media forums, they added.

“The need for such an approach becomes all the more necessary given the big and far reaching changes that were brought here in J&K. Our youth brigade has to take a lead in reaching out to people with the party’s vision and mission.”  :PTK
