District Administration, SAI welcome Freedom Rider Biker Rally at Ramban
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 12: District Administration, Ramban along with Sports Authority of India (SAI), Department of Youth Services and Sports warmly welcomed the 75-member contingent of the Freedom Rider Biker Rally in district Ramban at Nashri, Ramban and Banihal.
The Rally which was flagged off by the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah from Delhi on September 9, 2022, today passed through Ramban towards Kashmir. The rally which commenced from the National Capital, shall cover almost all the States, UTs of the country, covering a distance of around 21000 kilometres and would culminate on November 25, 2022.
Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Sharma; District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Dhramveer Singh and officers of SAI welcomed the bikers’ rally consisting of bikers from across the country including around 15 female riders.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated the bikers for taking part in this adventurous expedition. He said that it was a great honour for the district to welcome them in Ramban.

While terming the riders/bikers as the messengers of peace and harmony, the DC said that such initiatives serve as a platform for Fit India Movement.
Meanwhile, all the dignitaries termed the bikers as the ambassadors of peace and said that such initiatives are worth salutation, adding that they always felt pleasure to support and promote such programmes and initiatives as these apart from promoting fitness, promote tourism as well.
They said that the senior citizens, women and youngsters are taking part in the Rally,” to make the people of all age groups aware of the importance of fitness, given the fact that our social life has become passive and dull.”
Earlier, the District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Ramban along with local youth and bikers welcomed the Freedom Rider Biker Rally at Nashri Tunnel.
