Developmental works likely to get halted as contractors threatened to suspend works.

 

SRINAGAR JULY (PTK) The development works in Jammu and Kashmir are likely to get halted as contractors have threatened to suspend works against non clearance of pending bills.

According to a memorandum submitted by Jammu and Kashmir Contractors’ Coordination Committee (JKCCC) to Lieutenant Governor, GC Murmu, the pending liabilities on account of contractor payments In J&K have reached Rs 1024 Crores of different departments which includes nearly 550 Cr Of (R&B) In Jammu And Kashmir.

Chairman J&K Contractors’ Coordination Committee, Ghulam Jeelani Purza said that contractors of Jammu region have already suspended works against non-clearing of bills.

As of now Anti Corruption Bearue is asking for AAA , Technical Santion etc hich are not provided to us or not exercised from last 40 years, he said

After the implementation off the governor rule in J&K, only the Committees has been placed on table discussion for iur liablity firstly A Committee f :-
(R&B Committee) to check our Liablity, then a Commitee Of finance team, he added

They also checked the liablity and now the anti-Corruption Bureau comes to check the liablity. We are not getting what kind of govt it is as already a couple of committee have checked it and now a third committe ACB (ANTI CORRUPTION BUERAU) omes to check, he added

Acb has stated to probe the works executed in year 2015 to 2018 despite that these works were conducted as per PWD specifications and during execution all necessary tests were conducted and photos were also taken besides tests wer conducted in NITT and other govt labs, he said.

We have working as per direction of the department in letter and spirit but department is delaying our payments, he said, adding that there are crores of unpaid works executed after 2014 floods.
