DE&CC Kulgam organises career counselling cum orientation programme for the students of GDC

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR KULGAM, JULY 22: The District Employment and Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Kulgam organised a career counselling-cum-orientation programme for the students of Government Degree College, Kulgam.

Principal GDC, Kulgam Nazir Ahmad Lone was the chief guest on the occasion.

The Principal GDC in his welcome Address emphasized on the need for career counselling in the current scenario.

The coordinator of the event, Career counselling officer and employment officer, DE&CC Kulgam through their power-point presentations acquainted the participants about current Employment Scenario in UT of J&K, NCS portal & Employment portal of JK vis-a-vis the services offered to the job seekers by these portals.

Moreover, participants were briefed about the importance of Entrepreneurship & Self-Employment opportunities and schemes being implemented by various government departments, including youth flagship programmes & MY initiatives.

On-Spot registration of pass-outs was carried during the event.

The programme witnessed an overwhelming response from the faculty & students of the institute.

Queries & concerns of the participants were answered & clarified at the end of the session.

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR KULGAM, JULY 22: To ensure the functioning of National helpline for senior citizens (Elder Line 14567)  effectively in the district, a meeting of Officers and stakeholders was held under the chairmanship of Additional Development Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad Rather here at the mini-secretariat Kulgam.

This programme was attended by Programme Officer ICDS, SDM NOORABAD, ACD, DSWO, CMO, DySP Headquarter, Tehsildars and officers from other departments.

During this meeting stakeholders were sensitized about their role and responsibilities by State program Manager, Elderline and Field response officer.

It was informed that the senior citizens can call the helpline on toll free number 14567 daily from 8am to 8pm in case of need of assistance.

Moreover, the issues faced by the elderly citizens and mechanism in place for their prompt redressal was also discussed threadbare.
