DDC Kathua releases Rs 10.20 lakh financial assistance for education of wards of registered construction workers

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR KATHUA, AUGUST 02: District Development Commissioner Kathua Rahul Pandey today released financial assistance of Rs 10.20 lakh for education of wards of construction workers registered with Jammu & Kashmir Building & other Constructions Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB).

Assistant Labour Commissioner Kathua Brijnesh Kumari was also present.

The Deputy Commissioner released the invoice of DBT for extending the financial assistance to the registered Construction Workers to meet the expenses for Education of their wards.

The DDC directed the Assistant Labour Commissioner Kathua Brijnesh Kumari to register all the genuine construction workers of the district with JKBOCWWB  to enable them to avail the benefits of various welfare schemes being implemented by the department.

ALC Kathua informed that during the current Financial Year, an amount of Rs 42,68,000/- (Rupees Forty Two Lakh Sixty Eight Thousand only) has been disbursed through DBT Mode in favour of registered construction workers by the department.

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR KATHUA, AUGUST 02:  District Development Commissioner Kathua Rahul Pandey today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of ongoing Rural Infrastructural Development Fund (RIDF) Projects, funded by NABARD.

The DDC took a detailed review of 95 RIDF projects funded under NABARD,  being executed by different implementing departments in the district. The projects are funded by NABARD to upgrade the infrastructure, especially Rural Roads and Bridges, Flood protection works, Animal husbandry, Sheep husbandry, water supply schemes and PHC and ISM sectors.

DDC Kathua asked the concerned departments to speed up the remaining work of these projects so that fresh funds can be demanded from the NABARD for  the current financial year. He also advised the departments to submit project completion certificates of the completed projects. He further directed the officers to conduct regular field visits and take feedback from PRIs on quality parameters.

The DDC also laid thrust upon identification of new projects as per the specifications laid down by NABARD.

Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh, DDM NABARD, ADMO, Engineers of works department and other concerned officers were also present.
