DCO Ramban organises awareness programme at Batote  

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR RAMBAN, September 13:  Department of Drug & Food Control Organization, Ramban on Tuesday organized an awareness program here under “Nasha Mukt Jammu &Kashmir Abhiyan & “Say no to Self Medication” here at Batote.

 The event was held on the directions of State Drug Controller, Lotika Khajuria and under overall supervision of Deputy Drug Controller, Jammu.

 A large number of people as well as the Chemists of Batote participated in the program.

Speaking on the Occasion,    Drug Control Officer, Imtiyaz Ahmed appealed to the public to join hands in fighting the menace of drug abuse and eliminate the social evil from the society. He urged the public to report the incident of Drug abuse to the Police and in case of prescription drugs to the Drug department.

 The Chemists present on the occasion were instructed to maintain the purchase and sale record of Drugs falling under Schedule H1, especially habit forming drugs and dispense the same only under the valid prescription.

Further, stress was laid on installation of the CCTV Cameras and switching over to computerized billing to avoid any misuse of Drugs.

The Department of Drug & Food Control Organization, Ramban has started the drive since the start of this month against the Drug abuse under the banner of   “Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan” & “Say No  to Self Medication”.

A Pledge was also taken by the participants to contribute their bit in the fight against drug abuse, A number of hoardings and Posters were put up at different locations in Batote area for spreading mass awareness.
