DC Kupwara inspects Fruit & Vegetable Mandi, Bumhama

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 17:  The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray today visited Fruit & Vegetable Mandi Bumhama and convened a meeting  with the Officers and Traders to review the progress of the Mandi.

DDC Member Hyhama, Sona-ullah Khan and Area Marketing Officer Kupwara, Bilal Ahmad were present at the occasion.

The DC was informed that majority of the traders have shifted their trade to Bumhama Mandi from the Kupwara market.

On the occasion, the DC interacted with the traders, heard their issues and assured all help to make the Mandi a hub of dry fruit.

He emphasised for making the Kupwara Walnut a world brand and highlighted the need for its G.I tagging.

The DC passed on spot directions to the concerned officers for resolving various issues of the traders.

Lead District Manager JK Bank was directed to come up with a proposal within two days for setting up Cash Counter and ATM in the Mandi premises to facilitate easy transactions.

The PHE department was directed to provide uninterrupted water supply to the Mandi.

The DC also directed Area Marketing Officer Kupwara to submit a list of absentees to his office for cancellation.

Meanwhile, the DC appealed to unemployed youth to come forward with new ideas to generate business and employment opportunities for themselves.
