DC Kishtwar flags off Eat Right School & Eat Right Creativity Rally
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 09: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr. Devansh Yadav today flagged off Eat Right School & Eat Right Creativity Rally here from Mini Secretariat DC Office.
The rally was organized by the Department of Food Safety DFCO Kishtwar in collaboration with District Administration Kishtwar and Education Department Kishtwar.
The students besides staff of 02 Educational Clusters comprising 08 Schools with more than 100 students participated with zest , zeal and fervor in the Eat Right Rally.
Chief Education Officer, Sudershan Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Food Safety DFCO, Taraq Ahmad Butt, Nodal Officer Eat Right School and Eat Right India Gh. Ahmad Mughal were also present at the flagging off ceremony.
The rally passed through main markets and culminated on Chowgan Grounds. During this rally a pledge was taken regarding Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
The rally of the students reverberated in the markets and surroundings with the slogans of “Awo kum karain thora Tail chini aur Namak”. Eat Right Healthy, Eat Fortified”.
The Assistant Commissioner Food Safety DFCO along with Staff and Nodal Officer ERS led the Rally for making maximum coverage of the Schools under Eat Right India.
The Books like Yellow Books, Pink Books, Activity Books from Nidhi App were distributed amongst the Heads of the Schools of the participating Clusters.
Speaking on the occasion, DC encouraged the Department and participants for disseminating awareness among the masses about the Eat Right, Eat Healthy and Eat Fortified campaign.

He complimented the Department of Food safety for making tireless efforts for organising such programmes and stressed the need for holding such workshops and camps at Tehsil levels also to generate maximum awareness about the” Eat Right, Eat Healthy & Eat Fortified”.
Earlier, the Assistant Commissioner Food Safety DFCO, in his welcome address, urged upon the participants to adopt healthy food habits and avoid junk food to stay away from food borne diseases.
He also highlighted the achievements of the Department and enjoined upon the Food Business operators especially manufacturers, Hoteliers, Restaurant owners to adopt Hygienic practices & undergo Hygiene ratings & FoSTaC training to provide clean & safe food to the consumers.
Other speakers also highlighted the ill impact of adulteration in Food.
Besides the initiatives like implementation of MDM Registrations under FSSA, Magic Box Demonstrations, Debate and Painting competition were also held during the programs of Eat Right School and Eat Right Creativity wherein the stress was laid on the innovative initiatives of Food Fortification, Hygienic practices, sanitation, Cleanliness and conceptualization about Healthy diet ,Good diet and Healthy eating Habits with iron supplements and Deworming services.
The Food Department has also displayed motivational messages on pole kiosks at different locations added with digital media outreaches, Hoardings, Banner, posters under the Campaign of Eat Right School and Eat Right Creativity at Kishtwar.
