DC Kathua discusses issues of Thein Dam Project with stakeholders

 Asks for clearing pending land compensation, resettlement of displaced families

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR  KATHUA, DECEMBER 26: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review issues pertaining to Thein Dam Project here at DC office complex today.

 ADC Basohli, Ajeet Singh; ACR Vishav Pratap Singh; Superintendent Engineer, RSD Jasbir Pal; XEN Gagandeeep Singh; XEN R.S Jasrotia; SDO, Gurminder Singh; DFO, Basohli Ashwani Kumar; Naib Tehsildar, Abid Hussain and other concerned officers were also present.

 At the outset, the ADC Basohli, who is also Collector Thein Dam Project, apprised the meeting about the outstanding issues related to land compensation, employment, maintenance of road patch, reassessment of affected areas and other issues concerning revenue department.

 The DC impressed upon the authorities representing the Punjab side to put in concerted efforts to expedite issues related to land compensation, employment to eligible families displaced for execution of Thein Dam Project.

 Regarding pending land compensation cases, the DC directed concerned officers to work out the list of displaced persons who are to be compensated along with the quantum of compensation involved including the sub-judicious cases.

The DC directed Collector Thein Dam Project to furnish the list of remaining eligibles to Punjab authorities after scrutinizing and ruling out data redundancy so that all the affected families could receive their due employment, compensation.

The DC also directed ADC Basohli to constitute a committee comprising all the stakeholders as a supervisory mechanism to ensure that development and environmental protection be taken care of.

The meeting also discussed issues related to repair of road patches, protection of mining minerals etc.
