DC inaugurates first-of-its-kind Open Gym at GHSS Boys Doda

Announces to adopt GHSS Boys & Girls; Urges other officers to follow suit

        PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR   DODA, NOVEMBER 05: School education department, under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and Samagra Shiksha, has established first of its kind Open Gym at Government Higher Secondary School Boys Doda developed at a cost of Rs 4.5 lakh.

 District Development Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, inaugurated the facility here at a simple function in presence of Chief Education Officer, Prahalad Bhagat and the School Principal Ruby Naz.

          The CEO , while briefing about the unique initiative, said that the Gym shall provide a platform to the students to improve their Physical health and stay fit. “They can utilise their spare time in Physical exercises during the day long schooling in the institute” he added.

          The DDC, while interacting with the students and the staff, emphasized that teachers and students must concord in achieving the highest place in every field, be it any profession or any kind of sports.

 The DDC asked the CEO to explore the possibilities to establish Open Gyms in other government schools. He also instructed the staff to make best use of the Gym and other resources to achieve exemplary results. The DDC also inspected the CCTV room of the school.

          He announced to adopt GHSS Boys and GHSS Girls Doda and shall personally monitor the quality and standards of education in the twin institutions. “I will ensure improvement in overall development of these institutes“, he said and  urged  other Officers in the District to adopt atleast one Government Higher Secondary School, either of their own area if residing in the same district, or in their jurisdiction, with the sole objective of enhancing the quality of education by establishing direct contact with the school administration and the students.
