Crackdown on Gambling: J&K Police Arrest Four Individuals in Ganderbal, Seize Stake Money and Playing Cards

J&K Police have apprehended four individuals in the Safapora area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal District. Acting on the directives of SSP Ganderbal, Shri Sandeep Gupta-IPS, a police team led by SHO PS Safapora Sub-Inspector Gulzar Hussain, under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqr’s Ganderbal, Shri Gh Hassan-JKPS, conducted the successful raid.

 

According to officials speaking to the News Agency Press Trust of Kashmir, the operation targeted a group of gamblers at the link road Barkati Mohalla Safapora-Hakbara. During the raid, stake money amounting to Rs. 5800/- along with a deck of playing cards were recovered and seized from the possession of the accused.

 

The arrested individuals have been identified as Hilal Ahmad Malla, Sajad Ahmad Sagoo, Mohd Ramzan Fafoo, and Gh Qadir Shairgojree, all residents of the area.

 

A case under FIR No. 04/2024 has been registered at PS Safapora, and further investigation into the matter is ongoing. Ganderbal Police urges community members to actively collaborate with law enforcement agencies by sharing information about social crimes, thereby contributing to the creation of a safer and crime-free society. This operation highlights the commitment of J&K Police to uphold the law and ensure the well-being of citizens.
