Covid-19 vaccination starts in J&K , 4,000 health workers to get vaccine

Srinigar Jan 16 (PTK):The much awaited Covid-19 vaccine drive has commenced in J&K along with whole India on Saturday.
Top health officials said that vaccine drive has commenced and around 4 thousand health workers will get vaccine on day one.
They said that in Kashmir R Bhavnagar advisor to Lt Governor was present at inaugural event at SKIMS Soura where a covid vaccine was given to a doctor and a sanitation worker while as in Jammu LG Manoj Sinha inaugurated the vaccination drive.
They said that there are 40 sites in J&K where vaccination is taking place and around 100 front line workers at each site will get vaccination on Saturday.
It is pertinent to mention here that J&K on Wednesday received ist batch of 1.465 lakh Covishield vaccines and among them 79,000 were received by Kashmir division.
As per the government of India guide, people who receive the first shot of Covishield vaccine will be injected only Covishield as the second dose. (PTK)
