COVID-19: Director SKIMS asks people to curtail movements at public places

‘Avoid reporting OPDs for normal ailments, use help line if needed, avoid panicking’

Srinagar, Mar 18 (PTK): Director Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Srinagar Dr A G Ahanger on Wednesday urged the people to take precautions as per the advisories issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Government and avoid unnecessary travel to public places in view of the threat of the spread of the deadly coronavirus disease declared pandemic by World Health Organization (WHO).

He also asked people to avoid unnecessary and unwanted visits to the OPD at the valley’s top referral hospital.

As per Press Trust of Kashmir (PTK), addressing a press conference here on Wednesday Director SKIMS asked the people to Curtail their movements to public places including shopping malls, restaurants and hotels.

Asking the people not visit OPDs at the top referral hospital for minor ailments unless pressing health issues force them to do so, the Director SKIMS said solicited cooperation from the people to help medicos fight the spread of deadly disease coronavirus.

Asking the people to contact SKIMS on the help line set up for the facility of the coronavirus suspects, the Director SKIMS said that isolation wards have been set up for the coronavirus suspects at the valley’s top referral hospital. (PTK)
