COVID-19: Bandipora admin sealed 05 shops for violating restriction orders at Bandipora

Bandipora, May 16 (PTK): Acting tough against businessmen found violating restriction orders, the authorities on Saturday sealed at least 05 shops in northern Kashmir’s Bandipora area which were found violating Section 144 imposed by authorities in wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to an official, on the directions of Tehsildar Bandipora, Naib Tehsildar Ali Mohammad visited Watapora and Kaloosa areas of Bandipora and found 05 shops open in the area.“All these shops operating in violation of the restrictions imposed under section 144 CrPc were immediately sealed,” the official said.

The action was initiated after the government ordered shopkeepers to close down the businesses to prevent spread of Covid-19.

“We have been repeatedly announcing people to stay indoors and have been urging the traders of Bandipora to close their businesses to curb the spread of coronavirus. Now strict action is being taken against those found violating the government order,” Naib Tehsildar said.

He was accompanied with Patwari Mudasir Mir and other officials of department. The administration has been constantly making announcements, appealing people not to come out of their homes unnecessarily and adhere to the health guidelines. (PTK)
