Congress flays Govt for economic slowdown, price rise

Srinagar Feb 18 (PTK). Lashing out at BJP Govt for misrule and mismanagement of things, besides economic slowdown, besides failing people on all fronts, the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) while expressing serious concern over the hardships confronting people, vowed to continue its fight against the wrong policies of BJP Govt.
The party flayed Centre Govt over unprecedented price hike on petrol, diesel, demanding its immediate roll back and sought end to people’s miseries.
Addressing prominent party workers at Srinagar Party Office, JKPCC President G.A. Mir has said that BJP Govt has crossed all limits of misrule and mismanagement in the country, as a result, every section of people feel betrayed and cheated, having been pushed to wall. The irony is that whosoever raises voice against wrong policies of the Centre, he or she is being targeted and coerced aiming to silence the genuine voices, so that it doesn’t come in public domain inorder to hide failures on the part of Modi Govt.
Mir said the right-thinking people feel suffocated, whenever and wherever they criticize anti-people decisions taken by the BJP Govt, from time to time, FIRs are lodged against them for speaking truth, which is reflective of BJPs hypocrisy.
On the one hand Centre claims to have done development in the country, but on the other they muzzle the genuine voices inorder to hide its utter failure on all fronts, Mir added and said country’s economy is the worst hit due to their lack of knowledge and poor performance on ground zero, unfortunately people are being threatened from raising their voice against Centre’s wrong policies, which is disappointing, having sent confusing signals among the people.
The unprecedented price hike is a matter of serious concern, despite the low price of crude oil in international market, the price of petroleum products are all time high in the country. People have realized that BJP Govt is forcing people to pay high rates inorder to recover the damages that it has done to country’s economy by mismanagement and misrule, JKPCC President said.
Congress Party is committed to fight against the wrong polices of Centre Govt at every appropriate forum, won’t compromise on people issues, which are rising day by day rather than getting resolved, JKPCC President said.
Party is organizing protests across the J&K against price hike and will continue to highlight the anti-people decisions of the Centre, which is hell bent upon to weaken the people economically given their wrong policies and insensitivity towards to issues confronting Nation on account of economic slowdown, rising unemployment, besides the unprecedented price hike, G.A. Mir said.

On this occasion, JKPCC expressed profound grief over the passing away of veteran Congress leader and Former Union Minister Capt. Satish Sharma, a close associate of Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, who worked tirelessly for the people and party in different capacities.
Congress leaders and workers under the Chairmanship of JKPCC President observed two-minute silence in the honour of Capt. Satish Sharma and conveyed heartfelt condolences to bereaved family and friends of the deceased leader.
Mir described Late. Sharma as a seasoned and visionary political leader of India, who always remained committed to work for upliftment of people especially poor and downtrodden.
JKPCC expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to departed soul.
JKPCC strongly condemned the attack on Akash Mehra by unidentified gun near Krishan Daba, leaving him critically injured last night and urged the authorities to ascertain the identity of the gunmen for severe punishment.
