Srinagar, 08 Dec (PTK) : The indian Army on thursday paid rich tributes to Gen Bipin Rawat, Mrs Madhulika Rawat and 11 other soldiers, who died in an unfortunate accident after an indian Air Force helicopter crashed in Tamil Nadu’s Coonoor on Wednesday afternoon .

According to Press trust of Kashmir (PTK), Lt Gen DP Pandey, GOC Chinar Corps along with GOC Dagger Division, Maj Gen Ajay Chandpuria and prominent personals from civil and district administration paid homage to CDS Bipin Rawat and 12 others here at Sherwani Hall Baramulla.

Lt General DP Pandey while talking with reporters in Sherwani Hall Baramulla said that “we deeply saddened by the passing away of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, whom he described as an “outstanding soldier,” “his untimely death is an irreparable loss to our Armed Forces and the country.”

Meanwhile The Indian Air Force on Wednesday evening confirmed that Gen Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat were among the 13 persons who died in the tragic helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu.(PTK)
