Budgam Police inaugurates Women Help Desk at Police Station Chadoora

Press Trust Of Kashmir | Chadoora : To help the women in distress such as facing harassment or any kind of abuse or violence, Police in Budgam have inaugurated Women Help Desk at Police Station Chadoora.

SSP Budgam Shri Tahir Saleem Khan-JKPS inaugurated the Women Help Desk at Police Station Chadoora. He was accompanied by ASP Budgam, SDPO Charar-e-Sharief, SHO Chadoora and other officers of the district.

The help desk is aimed to respond to all such calls made by the women who are victims of domestic violence. Due to the growing incidents of domestic violence arising between the married couples in the valley demands an immediate redressal mechanism.

As the idea is to provide a prompt and reliable response mechanism to all the reports and information of domestic violence and offenses against women, a 24×7 help desk has been kept at disposal of the women of the district.

SSP Budgam while speaking on the occasion said that Police is committed to ensure peace in the society and to end the menace of domestic violence from the district.

Press Trust Of Kashmir | Kulgam: Police in Kulgam arrested a bootlegger and recovered 15 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession.

A police party of Police Station Qazigund led by SHO Qazigund at a checkpoint established at Damjen crossing on NHW intercepted a suspicious person who tried to escape from the spot however, the alert Police party tactfully apprehended him. He has been identified as Basharat Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohd Ramzan Sheikh resident of Checki Rajwali Vessu.

On checking, 15 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

A case FIR number 134/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation was initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding anti social elements in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in anti social activities will be dealt as per law.

Police fished out the body of a youth drowned in Budgam

June 10Press Trust Of Kashmir | Budgam Yesterday afternoon Police in Budgam received an information that a teenaged boy namely Irfan Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Rashid Bhat resident of Arigam has drowned in a stream at village Arigam Khansahib.

Acting swiftly, Police reached on the spot and started rescue operation along with locals of the area. Meanwhile, SDRF teams and River Police Srinagar were also called in for the operation.

After strenuous efforts by joint teams of Budgam Police, SDRF and River Police, the dead body of the drowned youth has been fished out.

Later the body was handed over to his legal heirs after completion of legal formalities.

Press Trust Of Kashmir | Shopian : Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Kashmir Range, Anantnag, Shri Abdul Jabar-IPS today visited District Shopian and chaired officers meeting, reviewed the security scenario, anti- terrorist operations and preventive measures taken to combat COVID-19.

During his visit, DIG SKR chaired meeting with SSP Shopian and other officers of District Police Shopian and discussed different security measures taken for the maintenance of overall peace in the District.

On the occasion, SSP Shopian Shri Amritpal Singh-IPS gave a detailed presentation regarding the security scenario of the district and briefed the DIG about current situation in the district including anti-terrorist operations, maintenance of law & order, measures taken to eradicate drug menace and implementation of guidelines issued by the Government to contain pandemic disease COVID-19.

DIG SKR also visited various Police Stations and Police components of District Shopian. He also appreciated the efforts of Shopian police in combating the Coronavirus and maintaining law and order in the District.

Press Trust Of Kashmir |  Barmulla : Deputy Inspector General of Police NKR Baramulla, Shri Sujit Kumar-IPS today visited District Bandipora to review the security scenario, anti- terrorist operations, drive against Drug mafia, illegal mining and other crime works, besides held Darbar with officers and Jawans at DPL Bandipora and also inspected various units at DPL including Quarantine centre, Indoor stadium.

During his visit, DIG NKR Baramulla held meeting with officers of the district and discussed different security measures taken for the maintenance of overall peace in the district.

SSP Bandipora Shri Mohd Zahid–JKPS gave a detailed presentation regarding the security scenario, drives against drug menace and illegal mining in the district.

DIG North Kashmir appreciated the efforts of District Police Bandipora in combating the Covid Pandemic and maintaining law and order in the district. During the meeting with the officers he reviewed the security situation, counter insurgency operations and measures taken to contain the spread of Coronavirus.

The DIG directed the officers to strengthen the security grid and plug the gaps with strict security measures and deal with menace of drugs strongly. About Covid-19 containment efforts he directed the officers to take all necessary steps in implementing the government orders on ground and also appreciated the efforts of Bandipora police in its Covid-19 containment efforts.

 NKR decorated medals of J&K Police Medal for gallantry to awardees of district police Bandipora including SSP Bandipora and DySP DAR Bandipora.
