Budgam Police arrests a notorious drug peddler

Srinagar, February 04 (PTK): Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Budgam, arrested a notorious drug peddler and seized psychotropic substance from his possession.

Officers at a checkpoint in village Nasrullahpora intercepted one person identified as Javeed Ahmad Rather resident of Nasrullahpora who was carrying a bag. Officers during checking have recovered huge quantity of drugs including Tramadol, Cholorodiapoxide, Alprazolam and Clonazepam tablets from his possession.

Case FIR No. 38/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Community members have appreciated the effort of Budgam Police. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in our community meetings. (PTK)
