Gulmarg Feb, 07 (PTK) Bollywood delegation recently visited the valley; hopefully, like past movies will be shot here again at beautiful destinations across Kashmir having amazing beauty’, the event announced reopening of Kashmir to the world says Army

The Bollywood celebrities who attend a two-day winter festival at Gulmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district said that the film cruise will definitely make a major comeback to the valley and the people of the valley are filled with love and warmth.

Two days winter festival was organized by the Indian Army that witnessed Skiing, Snowmobile, ATV race & Snow cycling. Apart from this cultural performances by renowned artists of Kashmir mesmerized the audience with their spellbound performances.

Addressing the reporters on the sidelines of Gulmarg winter festival 2021, GoC Dagger Division, Virender Vats said that the event was organized to provide a platform to local artists to showcase their talent and to provide a fillip to the tourism industry in Kashmir and lend support to the people who rely on this industry

He said that this two-day event included adventure sports, music, and the promotion of Kashmir handicrafts.

“We are happy that friends from the film industry including, Arbaaz Khan, Vidya Balan, and Siddharth Roy Kapoor graced the occasion and provided an encouragement to the local youth since these personalities are achievers in their chosen field and the enthusiastic participation witnessed will go a long way in sending a message that Kashmir will emerge from the Covid and is ready to welcome the tourists once again and Indian Army is happy to support the endeavor”, the GoC said.

Arbaz Khan in his media address thanked the Indian Army and said that it’s an honor to be among the Bravehearts in Kashmir.

Teaming himself very unfortunate, he said that it is my first visit to Kashmir and have not been to this place before. “I feel very unfortunate to have not visited the most beautiful place. Kashmir is truly amazing”, he said

No doubt the place is very cold but the people of Kashmir have a very great warmth and love within and I will be coming to the valley very often, he said adding that the people must visit Kashmir.

To a question about the come back of Bollywood to Kashmir, khan said that the films are shot based on the subject and if there is anything for this location will be done definitely. “Few of the Bollywood movies/ albums were shot here recently and with a great atmosphere here more people will come. Everything here is very safe and secure because of the Indian Army”, he said.

It’s a privilege to see things around and meet people in Kashmir, Arbaaz said.

While addressing the reporters, Vidya Balan refreshed her memories and said that her parents had come for a honeymoon in Kashmir. “I have traveled almost all parts of the world but never got to see and witness such an amazing-beautiful place like Kashmir”, she said.

Vidya said that the sports festival enhanced the excitement and made us feel no cold since the people welcomed us with warm love.

“We feel secure everywhere across the country only because of the Indian army. Hope I’m offered a movie soon that will be shot here in Kashmir”, she said.

Sidharth Roy Kapoor, Husband of Vidya Balan cum producer said that the hospitality of the Army and Kashmir has been incredible and my parents happen to have met in Kashmir and it’s a sentimental place for both of us.

“Bollywood will be definitely coming to Kashmir very often to shoot and there are no words to say how beautiful this state is”, he said.

Sidharth said that ” We intend to come here very often and bring the film cruise here and bring Kashmir back to film industries the way it was way back in the 1960s and ’60s.”

He added that Kashmir has tremendous talent and a delegation from Bollywood recently visited the valley. “I’m very confident that the film cruise will make a big come back to Kashmir”, he said

Meanwhile, an Army spokesman in a statement issued here said that the event was organized after two years & aptly announced the re-opening of Kashmir to the world.

The spokesman said that the Indian Army has always maintained a great connection with the local people & this is yet another instance of the Army supporting the aspirations of Awaam for a future of hope, prosperity & peace in the valley. “The event is likely to provide a fillip to the tourism in the valley & support the Kashmiri people whose livelihood has been impacted adversely due to the COVID pandemic”, the spokesman said.
