BJP leader Er Aijaz Ahmad condemns killing of Rakesh Pandit

Srinagar, June 03 (PTK):– Senior BJP leader and DDC member Khonmoh Er Aijaz Ahmad on Thursday condemned the killing of BJP leader and President MC Tral Rakesh Pandit.

He said that panchayat Institutions are being empowered in J&K due to which leaders are being targeted.

Democratic institutions have been empowered and issues of People are getting redressed that is why attempts are being made to target the leaders.

This isn’t the first attack on BJP leaders and this won’t make BJP weak as despite hundreds of attempts of militants to create a fear among political leaders have failed and they won’t get succeed in it. He said that protected persons must take precautions and should adhere to the SOPs of the police department.

He said that government provides also provides security to all those who have threat perception so that they won’t become soft targets and innocent lives won’t get wasted.

He said that Pakistan is trying to weaken the democratic setup but they won’t get succeed and sacrifices of workers won’t go in waste.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rakesh Pandit was reportedly shot dead by three unidentified militants on June 2 outside his home in Tral, South Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, IG Kashmir, has informed.

Kumar said “Despite being provided with two PSOs and secured hotel accommodation in Srinagar, the said councilor went to Tral without PSOs.

The BJP leader was a Kashmiri Pandit. He had been provided security by the government. However, he was not assisted by his personal security officer when he went to meet a friend in Tral area of Pulwama district. The Municipal Councillor of Tral was rushed to a hospital but he succumbed to the bullet injuries.
